21 September 2006

Postal Service Management remains silent on what date the two facilities in Springfield Massachusetts will officially become Consolidated into one after announcing plans to consolidate the two facilities in June of this year.

Still No Final Date on Consolidation for Springfield Facilities

Despite Inquiries from Branch # 1, Branch # 36 and Local Officers, the Postal Service has been unable or unwilling to provide the Union with a solid date on their plan to Consolidate the Springfield Logistical and Distribution Center into the larger Springfield Bulk Mail Center.

The Union has made repeated inquiries to the Postal Service and has not received any specific date from the Postal Service as to when they plan to finalize their plan to consolidate the two facilities into one merged facility.

We will continue to provide information as soon as it becomes available.

Fraternally,
